SHELBY, N.C. (WBTV) - The FBI, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office and North Caroline State Bureau of Investigation were searching a Cleveland County home and adjoining property.

Only WBTV was at the home on Cherryville Road in Shelby on Tuesday afternoon as crews searched the house.

Investigators were seen carrying boxes in and out of the house and closely studying an old car parked in the home’s driveway.

A joint statement from the agencies conducting the search confirmed they were executing a search warrant but did not provide any additional details.

“The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the SBI are executed court-authorized search warrants at multiple locations in and around Cleveland County today,” the statement said. “We are not releasing specific information at this time.”

Investigators remained on scene Wednesday morning, with no sign of wrapping up.
