In a blog post in the Avon Patch in 2012, Jennifer Dulos wrote about sleep difficulties with her then-18 month old daughter:
It was not like this when my husband, Fotis, was not here. We had more room. I and she (and he, somewhere afar) slept better.
In the most chilling part of her post, Jennifer closes by writing a message to her daughter, stating:
This too shall pass. But I fear I may be in a body bag by then.
Who Was the Real Jennifer Farber Dulos?
Jennifer Dulos was intelligent, thoughtful and educated. She was the product of hard work and an Ivy League education having graduated from Brown University in 1990, in addition to earning her MFA from NYU.
The media was quick to sensationalise her story. To this day, the headlines tend to describe Jennifer as a ‘suburban mother of 5’, and worse, ‘Gone Mom’.
Like Jennifer, Fotis went to Brown. He received his MBA from Columbia University. Of Fotis, Jennifer once wrote, ‘Serendipity cast its spell, this young man I’d always liked—we had a special chemistry together, always, something special and precious and we were careful to be careful with one another until lightning finally struck.’
In 1998, Jennifer wrote a piece that was published in Personals, a collection edited by Thomas Beller.
The New York Times wedding pages held a hypnotic sway over me since I discovered them at age 11. Entering the structured, ambitious black-and-white world at the back of the Sunday paper, I was window-shopping for a life.
