Case File: Christine Banfield

On 24 February 2023, Christine Banfield was stabbed to death in her home on Stable Brook Way in Herndon, Fairfax County, Virginia. Joseph Ryan, who was at the Banfield’s home was shot and killed in the same incident. The 911 call described a confusing scene. Brendan Banfield and the family’s au pair claimed that Joseph Ryan had stabbed Christine. The Banfields’ au pair, Juliana Peres Magalhaes, claims that Brendan Banfield shot Joseph Ryan.

Juliana Peres Magalhaes has taken a plea deal for the murder of Joseph Ryan. Brendan Banfield has been arrested and charged with the murder of Christine Banfield. Peres Magalhaes will cooperate with the state at his trial as part of the agreement.
