The Turner’s Shed
On February 15, 2000, Debbie Turner, noticed the following items in a shed filled with furniture & other supplies for her business:
- A white Atlanta ‘Olympics 1996’ pencil.
- A green marker.
- A Mickey Mouse hair bow.
- A wallet-sized photo of a little girl near the marker & hair bow.
She found the items near the door of the shed next to a tractor, but she did not initially contact police. It wasn’t until 2 days later when police arrived and asked if they could search through the Turner property that Debbie pointed the items out to police. As she told the Shelby Star at the time,
I know that the stuff shouldn't have been there. But we live so far south of where the girl lived that I never thought it might be hers. I just hope this helps find her, and I'm happy that it gives hope to everyone looking for her.
